So big!
At 16 months, Ashlyn has 8 teeth, more and more hair (that can now almost fully be put into a ponytail), is walking a few steps on her own but isn't quite confident enough to do it full-time yet, can identify with the proper sounds a: dog, cat, cow, fish, bird, pig, and sheep; has an uncanny ability to find the power button on any remote or printer, loves to talk on the cell phone to daddy, look at pictures of herself on the camera, and is completely infatuated with books. She is quite opinionated about almost everything and is prone to temper tantrums when you don't follow her idea of how things should be done.

She has many words, but only a few are fully understandable, like "momma, dadda, and bye-bye". She's almost got apple down ("babble") and can say butterfly and ball and bunny which all sound like "baba", and doggie - "doda" , so she's getting her beginning sounds down well at least! She is inquisitive about everything and notices the details in things such as finding the tiniest picture of a birdie in a book or notice the caulking by the sink or the smallest crumb on the floor. She loves giving hugs and kisses (real kisses!) recently and has become quite snugly. Lastly, she can now understand Japanese! If you ask her in Japanese where the monkey is, she will point to the monkey on her pajamas!
