Lazy Days / Mommy's Little Helper

We've just been hanging out the past few days, not much going on. We did go to Tokyo on Friday to pick up Ashlyn's first installment of modeling money. $600! It's going into her college fund, but it sure is tempting to spend it now, especially with Christmas expenses.

Oh, and when we went to the modeling agency to get the money, they wanted to take updated pictures for her portfolio and get her new measurements. Since her last modeling shoot, 2 months ago, she has grown 7 cm!! She is now 75 cm (that's roughly 30 inches). Her sweet little feet, though, are only 10 cm, which is between a size 1 and 2 US shoe size. She's just destined, at least for now, to be petite. It seems that she's taking after both of her paternal great-grandmothers. You just never know what genes will be expressed!

Since the sun has been out the last few days, I have taken advantage of it by hanging our laundry outside during the day to dry. Sweet Ashlyn has been quite the helper with this lately. I set the basket just inside the door upstairs in our bedroom and step out on the balcony to hang everything on the poles. Ashlyn has been watching this and decided she wanted to help today, so she comes over to the door, starts picking up one piece of clothing at a time and handing it to me to hang up. She is so excited to be helping and of course she is thanked profusely which makes her smile bigger and bigger.

This action also occurs when she finds new things on the floor or gets into new things around the house - she picks it up, looks at it, then holds it up for me to approve or disapprove and take it away. She's happy either way, but wants to make sure it's ok for her to have first.
