The rice grew a lot while we were away, so we just had to get out and stroll through it (ok, around it) to see how it had changed. A few more months before harvesting I believe; we'll keep you informed. It's been fascinating to watch how they plant, replant, and keep the rice hydrated as it grows. Who knew they let the water cycle in and out constantly as it grows by means of little creek-like waterways as a no-maintenance irrigation system? Things you have to move to Japan to learn!
